Japanese Language Courses
The Japanese Language Program at the Bangladesh Technical Training & Development Center (BTTDC) Institute of Languages (BIL) is designed to develop comprehensive proficiency in Japanese language and culture. The curriculum follows a structured progression from Beginner level to JLPT N5 and JLPT N4 preparation, ensuring mastery across four core skills—reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Learners build a strong foundation in Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji, along with essential grammar, vocabulary, and practical conversational skills. The program also includes optional interactive components such as drama, speech, and presentations to enhance fluency and confidence. Continuous evaluation through quizzes, class tests, mid-term and final examinations, and JLPT-focused mock tests ensures steady student progress and exam readiness.
Upon successful completion, learners receive certificates based on performance and attendance, and are well-prepared to attempt the JLPT N5 or N4 examination.

 Beginner Level — 50 Hours
Course Description
The Beginner Level provides a foundational understanding of the Japanese writing system, basic vocabulary, grammatical structures, and essential communication skills. Learners develop familiarity with Hiragana, Katakana, and introductory Kanji. The course emphasizes functional communication for everyday situations such as greetings, self-introduction, numbers, family, time, shopping, and simple interactions.

JLPT N5 Level — 144 Hours
Course Description
This comprehensive course prepares learners to achieve the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N5 level. The curriculum covers foundational grammar, vocabulary, and conversation patterns needed for everyday communication. Students complete structured lessons using Minna no Nihongo Shokyu I and Nihongo Challenge Kanji N5, covering approximately 110 Kanji and essential vocabulary required for JLPT N5.
The full course includes detailed lesson-based instruction, class tests, midterm and final exams, speaking activities, optional drama/speech sessions, and mock JLPT tests.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, learners will be able to:
●    Understand and use basic Japanese expressions in daily life
●    Read and write Hiragana, Katakana, and approximately 110 Kanji
●    Form sentences using basic grammar and everyday vocabulary

JLPT N4 Level — 144 Hours
Course Description
The JLPT N4 Level builds upon the N5 foundation and enhances learners’ ability to understand and use Japanese in broader everyday contexts. The course introduces additional Kanji, grammar structures, vocabulary, and longer reading and listening tasks. Learners practice more complex communication and improve fluency through structured lessons, thematic conversations, comprehension tasks, and JLPT-focused drills.

●    Read and write a larger set of Kanji
